Serie A faces new disruption ahead of the season kickoff.
FIGC Vice-President Demetrio Albertini admits he’s worried the Serie A season could be delayed by the Players’ Association.
“It’s like the NBA. If there is no signature on the contract, then the season won’t start,” warned Albertini.
The AIC (Players’ Association) President Damiano Tommasi also noted there were serious problems.
“Tommasi was very clear,” continued Federation Vice-President and former AC Milan midfielder Albertini.
“The President of the AIC went round the pre-season training camps and the players’ intentions emerged. Without the agreement, they won’t play.
“I believe the Lega will sign the collective bargaining contract before August 26. There is time to find a deal, but then again we’ve been told that for a year now.”
