Before I go into that though, a little bit of explanation as there's been a bit of confusion on the forums about this feature - it's not something that you control. You can't request a fan day. It's something that the board decide to do when the time is right - if you are getting capacity crowds or are bankrupt, then you won't get a fan day, for example. For a big game, there won't be a fan day. They are more likely to happen on those wet midweek games when the board are scared no one is going to turn up…

"Fan days are setup by the board in order to try and boost attendances (both for that one match and long term).

There are four types of fan days that the board can arrange:

Bring A Kid, Bring A Friend: 40% boost to home attendance for this game, Neighbourhood Day, Sponsor Day

For the first two types, the extra attendance will get tickets for half the price so the extra revenue from the extra tickets is 50%.

The long term effects of the fan day on club attendance depend on the entertainment factor of the game (and the result)."

If the match is a great one, then you will see a further boost in attendance over your normal attendances. This will vary according to the fun that was had by the new supporters at the game.
