Dear Arsenal supporter,
Sunday's 2-1 defeat at Birmingham was a typical end-of-season game. We certainly had one eye on the FA Cup Final and lost too many 50:50 balls to really make the difference.
I don't think the defeat will affect the team because the most important thing was that we had a good run-out with no injuries.
The fact we got caught at the end by taking things a little bit too easy will help us to focus against Manchester United on Saturday.
Having just won 7-0 against Everton, the fact we lost will improve our defensive performance because on Sunday we got caught out by two easy goals.
As for the FA Cup Final itself, our approach will be to play football as well as we can. We will try to bring that trophy home and I am confident we can do that.
I am also sure it will be an exciting game to watch so don?t miss it!
I hope Thierry Henry is fit for the Final but it is very difficult to assess his injury. He had a slight reaction after playing against Everton on Wednesday night.
I will see what I do with him on Wednesday or Thursday. I won?t know until then. It is a similar situation with Jose Antonio Reyes who got a kick in training.
Lauren has been unwell with food poisoning but he could have played at Birmingham. Robert Pires was rested and, apart from Gael Clichy, that is it as far as injuries are concerned.
Thanks for your support. |
