There are lots of brilliant staff on this year’s game, Scorsese’s “staff pool” picks out some of the ones I’ve not highlighted here, while there will be a lower league version of this thread coming very shortly from myself and The Pioneer. I have done this using Barcelona and Man Utd, and any who would not even enter discussions with Barcelona/Man Utd are not included here (Eg Tord Grip (scout) and Mahseredijan (physio/fitness)).
Assistant Manager
Elio Carravetta
Internacional
Compensation: £75k Requested Wage: £2.8kpw
A Brazilian assistant, who will be phenomenal once he has settled in, Carravetta's low adaptability is covered by some fantastic mental attributes and a well rounded technical profile. His discipline and level headed personality mean he could easily handle press conferences for you.
1[size="2"]st Team Coach
Bruno Demichelis
Compensation: Free Requested Wage: £4.4kpw
Demichelis is a former Chelsea coach and you can see why, he could easily be assistant manager, him and Carravetta are both well suited to both roles. Demichelis has experience on his side and can help in all areas of coaching, but also with the youth in your first team squad.
Fitness Coaches
Paulo Paixao
Gremio
Compensation: £149k Requested Wage: £2.3kpw
Paixao has been great on several FMs although at CSKA he cost quite a bit to poach both in fee and wages, now at Gremio however he doesn't, and while not a more rounded coach, he has better fitness attributes than before.
Aureli Altimira
Barcelona
Compensation: £155k Requested Wage: £5kpw
Possibly the weakest in terms of rounded ability, Altimira is still a fantastic fitness coach among a bad bunch of staff at Barcelona. His wage is relatively high though compared to Paixao, but with Mahseredijan not willing to sign for anyone, Altimira is your next best bet.
Attack Coach
Rodolfo Borrell
Liverpool
Compensation: £1.55m Requested Wage: £13kpw
Borrell is the best who will sign in the attack category, as Tony Carr is too loyal to West Ham United, and he comes at a massive price from Liverpool, his age is on your side though which might help justify the fee, although his wage is hard to justify.
Defence Coach
Dave Parnaby
Middlesbrough
Compensation: £103k Requested Wage: £2.1kpw
Parnaby has absolutely fantastic stats and is a bargain from 'Boro at that compensation, and a low wage too. He has 15 years or so left, although quite how he is a far better defensive coach than Steve Bould I am not really sure.
Goalkeeping Coaches
Michelangelo Rampulla
Compensation: Free Requested Wage: £900pw
Free, Italian, this games a bit weird! He's fantastic and at that wage you simply have to snap Rampulla up straight away. He's relatively young too and that means he should stay around for a while.
Harald Schumacher
Compensation: Free Requested Wage: £3.9kpw
A fantastic goalkeeper coach with lots of experience, Schumacher requests a much bigger wage than Rampulla, but is still worth it, particularly as he has some wide knowledge of Europe, and has some 7 or 8 years left at the top.
Tactics Coach
Sidnei Lobo
Compensation: Free (Brz) Requested Wage: £12.5kpw
The Brazil assistant manager will accept a coach role if you offer him a big wage, which is critical as he is one of the best tactical coaches available. The wages are offset by the free transfer, and his low wage, while his strong scouting stats mean he can give a decent opinion on the depth of the squad in relation to the tactics.
Technique Coaches
Shooting – Massimo Neri
Compensation: Free (Eng) Requested Wage: £4.8kpw
With Moniz in charge at Salzburg there are less technical coaches available easily now, and Neri's boost in stats provides a welcome relief to that, free as he is an England coach and low wages too, Neri is well rounded but in this instance serves as a technical coach.
Ball Control - Paul McGuinness
Man Utd
Compensation: £209k Requested Wage: £6.25k
McGuinness will happily take a promotion to coach, although for a higher wage. His lack of attacking coaching means he is best suited for the Ball Control technical role. The compensation for him isn't too great, and he has potential to be a future assistant manager.
Youth Coaches
Jim Cassell
Man City
Compensation: £1.24m Requested Wage: £7.5k
Cassell is one of the highest compensation fees on this staff team, and can give some fantastic judgements on youth players under his tutelage as he has high scouting attributes. He also has moderately strong and very well rounded technical attributes.
Eric Thiery
OM
Compensation: £156k Requested Wage: £3.4k
Possibly the weakest of the staff team, but the best youth coaches have already been promoted to full coach roles (McGuinness!). Thiery has decent knowledge of North Africa which will aid scouting, while having well rounded if not spectacular coaching stats. Don't ask him to take charge of a youth team though with just 9 Tactical Knowledge. |
