Martín Luis Galván Romo (born February 14, 1993 in Acapulco, Guerrero) is a Mexican soccer player for Cruz Azul.

In 2006, aged 13, he was spotted by FC Barcelona scouts who invited him for a trial with the club, but he was unable to make the trip.[1] On January 5, 2008 Galván debuted in an official match in the InterLiga tournament as an 85th-minute substitute against Monterrey. The match ended in a 1–0 win for Cruz Azul.

On Saturday night, in an Interliga match against Monterrey, Cruz Azul coach Sergio Markarian gave 14-year-old Mexican forward Martin Galvan his first taste of first-team futbol. The Uruguayan coach has classified the young striker as a “crack,” the Spanish term to signify a superstar. The man-child from Acapulco was playing street soccer three months ago, but now he has nine minutes of professional soccer under his belt. His skills were evident, but he was easily out-muscled by the fully grown men around him on several occasions.  


Hopefully, the Mexican system will protect Galvan from the media frenzy that chewed up the last 14-year-old who played professionally on the continent, American Freddy Adu. Soon after his 2004 debut with D.C. United, he quickly became disgruntled and often underperformed before transferring to Benfica in Portugal last year.
