The Dons came from behind twice to claim a point from an entertaining match at the Sky Blues. Coventry went 1-0 up after seven minutes as disappointing defending from Wimbledon saw them concede from a corner. But seconds later the scores were levelled. Lee Martin got down the left and sent over a cross which Serge Makofo drove home from close range. The match continued with some good attacking football from both teams, and Coventry went ahead again in the closing stages of the half. But Wimbledon responded with another equalise on 42 minutes. Serge Makofo as put through on goal but was then upended in the penalty area. The referee pointed to the spot, and Thomas Carter buried the penalty. Wimbledon then dominated proceedings in the second half, Tyrone James fired over the bar from a good position, Makofo hit the post after a good run and Martin hit the sidenetting from close range. But despite all the pressure, they could not net a winner, and had to be indebted to keeper Shay Morris, who made a string of fine saves in the closing stages as Coventry finished strongly.
