Leedsb teenager James Milner signed his first professional contract with the club in February 2003. Within months of that he was fast-tracked into the first-team squad by manager Terry Venables.. The Horsforth had impressed Vennables while playing for the England Under-17s side in the 2002 summer tournament and his performances helped him force his way into senior football.
He made his full debut as a substitute at West Ham in November to become the second-youngest ever player to ever play in the Premiership behind Coventry City's Gary McSheffrey who was 16 years 198 days old when he made his debut v Aston Villa Prem in February 1999. Milner, at sixteen and 309 days, is the second youngest ever player at Elland Road behind Leeds legend Peter Lorimer, who at the tender age of 15 years, 289 days, made his debut against Southampton in September 1962.Milner broke another record in the shape of Wayne Rooney's youngest ever Premiership scorer, netting his first senior goal with a tap-in against Sunderland in December 2002.He shot to true stardom when he scored in his very next game, this time turning French international Marcel Desailly and curling a beautiful shot past Chelsea keeper Carlo Cudicini.
On CM4 the teenage sensation is comfortable on both feet and composed on the ball, with a great future ahead of him. His stats are quality enough for 1st team action at the start and he just keeps on getting better and better. While only on a youth contract it is possible to poach Milner away with the promise of first team action. Hes good enough for it so what are you waiting for.
