Maicon is a distinct and sort after hot talent in FM06. A right back who is very attacking, likes to control the flanks and plays in many positions. Maicon who can best be described as a young Cafu really shows signs of being a fantastic right sided player. Maicon left Cruezio back in 2004 looking for major success and to make it big in Europe. About to start his second season with Monaco, he can be bought for a surprisingly cheap fee for a player of his quality, at a bargain price of £5,500,000 and has not difficulties being granted a work permit.
For a defender you may be worried at first by his pretty much average defensive abilities, for example his tackling attribute could be a lot better. But after a while you think he is on 20 for tackling, he reads the play very well, knows when to get back and most of all he is a genuine hardworking determined team player. He is good in the air and will also man mark a player for the full game with no real problems, using his stamina to his advantage.
Even though Macion’s first choice position is a right back he is as equally if not more than capable of playing a more attacking role down the flanks putting his great physical attributes to the test, running down the wing at pace and having the strength to hold of a challenge and deliver and end product. He can adapt to this position well and can also be re-trained to play here. Maicon can be used to great effect as a supply man to whip in balls from the by-line as he is a great crosser of the ball and will no doubt get your team a lot of assists. A major selling point of this lads game is that not only can he start a move but he can also finish it too.
A weakness is that sometimes when he gets too unfit he finds it hard to regain his top level of fitness, but he rarely gets injured which is always reassuring. An all round star buy and defiantly worth your transfer budget. |
