Championship Manager 4 Frequently Asked Questions
Last Revised Friday, 9th of May 2003
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q1. I cant install the game?
A1. If you are running Windows 98 (and maybe Me, and if you try on 95) You may get an error when trying to install the game. The version of Windows Installer that shipped with your OS is old and wont work with our installer. In that case you'll need to download and install: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=CEBBACD8-C094-4255-B702-DE3BB768148F
After installing, reboot. It simply updates windows installer from version 1 to version 2.
If you are running Windows XP, browse the CD and run the file "instmsiw." Once this has finished, restart the computer and then install the game as normal. If your operating system is Windows 98, run "instmsia” restart the computer and then install the game as normal.
b) If your getting an error along the lines of "Installer Error 1607"? (Cheers to Jay from Eidos for this solution)
Go to Start then Run
then type
MSIEXEC /UNREGISTER
click ok
(nothing will visibly happen, maybe icons flash on desktop)
then go back to run and type
MSIEXEC /REGSERVER
click ok
(again nothing visibly will happen, however windows is reregistering all components of the installer - which is what error 1607 relates to)
Try and install the game (its been proven to work on a few systems).
Q2. The patch is telling me to "Please install before using this update" - But Cm4 IS installed!
A2.A number of people have reported problems with the CM Update tool. What it is doing for a tiny amount of people is asking them to install the game before they patch it. But these people have the game installed. Firstly, I must warn you to be careful and only do exactly what I say. I take no responsibility for people doing this wrong and making a mess of their PC! I must thank 'GWX' for this solution!
What you have to do is go to Start, and click run. In the run box type ‘regedit’ (no comma’s) to bring up the Windows registry editor.
Click on HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Then click on Software,
Then click Sports Interactive LTD,
Then Click on Installs
Then right click on the Installs folder..
Click Permissions on the menu that appears.
In the permissions section give all the users use full permissions..
Now reboot the machine.
When the machine comes back up, try first go into CM4 again..
When that is ok, try and apply the patch again..
Of course, you may also get this problem if you don't have a fully legal copy of the game! The solution in this game is to get yourself to your local game shop and buy a copy!
Q3. My game wont start, because I’m getting a "...copy protection.." error?
A3. The first thing to you should do is to ensure that you have the CM4 Enhancement Pack 3 (available from http://www.sigames.com/) Second is to make sure the CM4 CD is in the drive when you are attempting to launch the game, and that your CDROM drive recognizes that it is inserted. (As seen in My Computer). These two things will solve your problem.
If you dont have Enhancement pack 3 installed you may encounter problems. If you have certain CD-burning software installed, such as Nero Burning Rom, or other system tools like Inseektors, Daemon Tools, or others, you may need to disable any processes the software installs, such as the NeroCheck utility installed with Nero.
This problem may also occur if you are running debuggers, decompilers, or CD-ROM Drive emulators on your system, or if you are using Real Mode [DOS] drivers for your CD-ROM drive.
Finally make sure you have a valid copy of CM4 and indeed that you don’t have a no-cd crack or indeed the Crack directory; within which came a No CD crack. Both of these will stop the game working, or will cause problems down the line at best.
Q4. My game won’t start, because I’m getting a spinning CD icon and then nothing else?
A4. Installing Cm4 Enhancement Pack 3 solves this problem!
If the problem does persist after installing Enhancement Pack 3 contact [email protected] immediately.
Q5. My game just crashed (maybe with a “This Program has performed an Illegal Operation and will be shut down” error”) What can I do?
A5. These errors happen now and again to everyone with all kinds of windows applications, which will include CM4. We have found that more often than not they happen when Windows encounters a conflict with a driver in use in your system. Click on the "Details" button for more information about the error message. If the error is an invalid page fault in module kernel32.dll or module CM4.exe, it is indicative of a driver that is not functioning correctly. Generally, the driver in question will be either the one used by the video or sound card. Since hardware manufacturers update their drivers frequently, the problem is resolved by visiting the manufacturer's website, then downloading and installing the updated drivers.
Your best bets are:
1. Get the latest patch for CM4.
2. Run Scandisk on the drive CM4 is installed on to check it out.
3. Update Windows from http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/
4. Get the latest drivers for your hardware from the manufacturer’s website.
We are always glad to help you in the sigames community message board (http://community.sigames.com) what you should do first is run the Direct X diag tool.
Click Start > then run, and then type dxdiag into the box. I box will pop up and it will be busy doing stuff for a few seconds. After that is finished click "Save all information" ; post the contents of that file into your thread asking for help; and we can help you much quicker!
Q6. When I press "Continue” the game crashes back to the desktop?
A6. As above, your best bets are:
1. Get the latest patch for CM4.
2. Run Scandisk on the drive CM4 is installed on to check it out.
3. Update Windows from http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/
4. Get the latest drivers for your hardware from the manufacturer’s website.
We are always glad to help you in the sigames community message board (http://community.sigames.com) what you should do is run the Direct X diagnostics tool.
Click Start > then run, and then type dxdiag into the box. I box will pop up and it will be busy doing stuff for a few seconds. After that is finished click "Save all information" ; post the contents of that file into your thread asking for help; and we can help you much quicker!
Q7. I keep getting windows Blue Screen of Death and/or "Random Crashes"?
A7. Championship Manager 4 needs lots of resources, and will test every part of your PC to the max, particularly CPU and system memory. This will cause the hardware to give off a lot of heat. If your system cooling is inadequate, it will cause the system to become unstable, and possibly crash. This issue will manifest itself in the form of a "Serious Error" message, and/or a blue screen crash.
Here are some diagnostics that you should run in order to find out if your system is stable:
Prime95
http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft.htm
ftp://mersenne.org/gimps/p95v2212.exe
When using Prime95, run the Torture Test until your PC passes the self- diagnostic.
Memtest86 - http://www.memtest86.com
Use Memtest86 to test your system memory's stability. Be sure to let it complete a full pass at least once.
Sandra http://www.sisoftware.net/?dir=dload&location=sware_dl_x86&a=&lang=en
Various diagnostics included in this program. This software will also tell you your motherboard and CPU's temperature. Sandra also has a BurnIt test to examine the stability of your system by running a series of tests continuously. However, Prime95's Torture Test is a more reliable way to test your system's stability.
Q8. I’m running Windows XP and I’m being asked to run scandisk and I can’t find it?
A8. Open My Computer, and then right click on the hard drive CM4 is installed on (usually C: ) Click on Properties and then on Tools in the box that pop’s up. Click on the top box “Error Checking”
Q9. I’m getting an error when opening CM4 “"Error:0x000D: Unable to open full screen mode"?
A9. There are a few ways to sort this out. Firstly make sure your colors are at True Color (32 bit) and your screen is at least 1024 by 768 pixels.
(Right Click on the desktop, click properties, click settings..
Set Colors on the left to True Color (32 Bit) and Screen Area to 1024 by 768 pixels)
If you can’t get to 1024 by 768 pixels then refer to question 6 about how to force it into 800 by 600 pixels.
Q10. I want to run the game in Windowed mode, but I can’t. Is there a way to force the game to run in a window?
A10. Firstly to run in a window you have to be in a screen resolution above 1024 by 768 (1152 by 864 is the next one up for example). Now you can try either command line or pressing "control and F together (as per the keyboard shortcuts) The command line option is to run CM4 with the -windowed flag.
Click Start > Run > and in the box type in the location of CM4 – c:program filescm4cm4.exe -windowed for example. Now after cm4.exe add “-windowed”. So what you end up putting in the run box is
c:program filescm4cm4.exe –windowed
This forces the game to run in a window. (you can always right click on the shortcut on your desktop, click on properties and put -windowed at the end of the command that launches the game, if you always want it in a window)
Q11. I have just installed Enhancement pack 3 and my save game does not work?
A11. In some very rare occasions save games may have become corrupted in the past, and by installing enhancement pack 3 your save game will become unsable. Im sorry there is nothing we or indeed you can do when this happens. All I can say it should be very very rare.
We do reccomend in the strongest way that people start a new game after installing enhancement pack 3, if for no other reason than to take advantage of all the fixes right from the start of their game!
Q12. How do I create a *.edt file to do the cheats from the hints and tips guide?
A12. Open Notepad, apply the cheat as per the guide. To then save do this,
File > Save As > Save As Type set to 'All Files' not text at the bottom of the window.
Q13. Can the resolution be changed to 800 by 600?
A13. .Yes, but the game is not designed to look like that, the game is designed for 1024 by 768. The minimum resolution is 1024 by 768. We cannot therefore guarentee the game will work 100% of the time in 800 by 600. If you have to you need to, you can try this mode by using the following -
c:program filescm4cm4.exe -small_screen
You can right click on the shortcut on your desktop, click on properties and put -small_screen at the end of the command that launches the game, if you always want it in on your small screen
Q14. I have poor eyesight/my monitor is bad and I can’t see the ball on the 2D match screen, is there anything I can do?
A14. There is indeed! In your GameData folder there is a file called init.cfg. What you need to do first is right click this file and click properties, and uncheck the read only box so you can save your changes. Then you want to enter “BIG_BALL” (Exactly as it is there, with the inverted commas). This makes the ball much bigger and should help you seeing it!
If init.cfg is not there, then you can create it. What you want to do, is simply make a text file, called init.cfg. So go to.. File > Save As > Save As Type set to 'All Files' not text (at the bottom of the window). Now save a file called init.cfg.
Q15. I have problems connecting to a network / Internet game under Windows XP?
A15. It is quite likely that the Built in Win XP firewall is enabled and thus blocking the port CM uses. To disable it follow these instructions:
-- Go to the Setting section in the start menu
-- Click Network Connections
-- Right click on the Connection and click Properties
-- Go to the advanced tab and un-tick the ‘enable firewall’
A better option may be to open ports 9091 on UDP and 9092 on TCP rather than to disable the firewall. You can add these ports by going to your Connection Properties --> under the tab ’Advanced’ > click settings in the bottom-right hand corner and add CM twice - one for port 9091 on UDP and then one for 9092 on TCP. It’s much safer this way because you don’t run the risk of being hacked. If you still have problems, post a message in the cm forums with the contents of the net.out file (found in the CM directory) as well as the usual details.
If in doubt, have a look in Daves Networking thread on the sigames message board!
Q16. I am having trouble downloading the patches. I keep getting cut-off and have to start downloading again.
A16. Use a Download Manager like GetRight. You can get it here:http://www.getright.com
Q17. Game freezes / stops when loading game / saving / end of season, if I press Ctrl+Alt+Del it says: Not Responding?
A17. Wait longer - Not Responding doesn't mean that it has crashed; it just means the program is too busy to respond to Windows. If you leave it, it will eventually get past this; the processing at the end of the season can take especially long. If it does crash, you usually get an error message or it crashes back to the desktop.
If you are convinced it’s a problem then ask a question in the sigames community messageboard (http://community.sigames.com). To speed up the process what you should do is run the Direct X diag tool first.
Click Start > then run, and then type dxdiag into the box. I box will pop up and it will be busy doing stuff for a few seconds. After that is finished click "Save all information" ; post the contents of that file into your thread asking for help; and we can help you much quicker!
Q18. Are save games compatible from older game versions to this new version? E.g. from CM 01/02 to CM4?
A18. No, they are not compatible. Save games from different versions of CM (like 00/01 etc) are not either. You can load CM4 Demo saves with the Full version though.
Q19. I’m having trouble installing off the CD?
A19. Copy the contents to a place on your hard drive and install the game from there by running setup.exe.
Q20. The PC restarts itself when playing CM?
A20. CM cannot restart the computer on its own (except in eXP where it will restart by default after a critical error). As a result, the problem is usually related to overheating and restarting is the computer’s way of telling you that it is getting too hot. The best fix is to get some more case fans. If you can’t do that, try taking the side off your computer to let some more air in. (WARNING: don’t let anything spill/fall into the open case!)
Q21. My save game no longer appears in the restore list?
A21. This means that the file header has become corrupt and your game is beyond repair. The most likely causes for this happening are bad sectors (run scandisk) or data updates.
Q22. My save game gives me an error when I try and load it and it won’t load?
A22. Similar to A16 - this means that the save game is more than likely corrupt and your game is beyond repair. Again, the most likely causes for this happening are bad sectors (run scandisk) or data updates.
We are always glad to help you in the sigames community message board (http://community.sigames.com/) what you should do first is run the Direct X diag tool.
Click Start > then run, and then type dxdiag into the box. I box will pop up and it will be busy doing stuff for a few seconds. After that is finished click "Save all information" ; post the contents of that file into your thread asking for help; and we can help you much quicker!

Q24. Will CM4 work with Windows 95?
A24. Microsoft doesn’t support Windows 95 anymore, and neither does CM4! CM4 will work on Windows 98/se, Me, NT4 with Service Pack 6a, 2000 and XP.
Q25. Is there a/Will there be a Linux/Unix/BeOS/Insert Other Strange OS here version of CM4?
A25. No there isn’t/will not be! CM4 is only on Windows and Mac, and there are no current plans to port to any other weird or wonderful platform. It should work fine with Wine/WineX although that is untested and (very) unsupported.
Q26. Does CM4 work with AMD K6 Processors?
A26. Yes it does, CM4 will work fine on AMD K6 series processors. We must point out that these processors will be below our minimum specs, and will run the game very slowly!
Q27. Can we continue the games we've played in the Demo on the full version of CM4?
A27. Yes!
Q28. How do I take a Screenshot?
A28. Press the print screen button on the keyboard (Prt Sc(r) - next to F12). The image is now stored on the clipboard and you can access it by pasting (Ctrl+V) into Paint or other image-editing software.
Q29. I’m getting an error that the wrong CD is in the drive. But CM4 is in the drive?
A29. You may want to check to ensure the CD is not damaged or dirty. Check the bottom (shiny) side of the CD for scratches, and use a soft cloth to wipe from the centre of the CD directly out to the edge to take care of any fingerprints or smudging. Then, try installing the game again.
Q30. During launch the game simply crashes back to the Windows desktop with no error message.
-- OR --
"After the game launches it locks up on a black screen." A30. A large amount of the time this is to do with issues with the style of copy protection used on the Championship Manager 4.
The first thing to you should do is to ensure that you have the CM4 CD in the drive when you are attempting to launch the game, and that your CDROM drive recognizes that it is inserted. (as seen in My Computer)
If you are still having the problem after taking these steps, you may need to upgrade the firmware in your CD-ROM drive. Please contact your equipment manufacturer if you need assistance with this.
If you believe that you are having trouble with your CD's SecuRom copy protection, please complete the following: http://www.ina-support.com/sony_troubleshooter/index.htm
Q31. When I try and start CM4 I get a message that I don’t have enough memory to run the game?
A31. This will occur if the system does not have the required amount of RAM in order to run the game, or has limited memory due to an excessive amount of applications running in the background. If you get this error we would suggest closing all applications and rebooting the computer, and then starting CM4, and no other applications.
Q32. I'm having trouble installing the game on Windows NT?
A32. This is probably due to you not having installed service pack 3. Please check the Microsoft website and install this important upgrade to service pack 6a and try installing the game again. You may also check that the user account you are trying to install under has administrator rights to the machine.
Q33. Im running Windows 98 and my mouse pointer is not set at the tip of the finger?
A33. Make sure you have the latest CM4 Enhancement Pack installed. If you still get it, try moving from 32 bit color down to 16 bit.
Q34. I want to copy my save game/tactics to another computer, where can I find them?
A34. In the root of your CM4 directory (“C:Program FilesCM4 for example”) you will see a directory called “User Data” Within that directory you will probably have 3 directories; firstly ‘games’ (which contains your save games), secondly ‘tactics’ (which contains your saved tactics) and filters! Don’t panic if you have more or fewer folders than this, it depends on what you have saved from within the game!
Q35. I play my games on PC/Mac and I want to play my game on my friends Mac/PC? Is there anything I can do?
A35. Yes indeed, as long as both games are on the same patch version of CM4 Mac and PC save games should work on each operating system. Put your save game in the Cm4User Datagames directory and play away.
Q36. I want to design my own skin, can you help me?
A36. The best thing you can do is go to one of the CM fan based skinning sites such as http://www.cmskins.com and read one of their guides! Don’t forget the Skins forum on the sigames.com message board!
Q37. I've just installed the game but it doesn’t seem to be able to find the Exe?
A37. We suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the game, when you are presented with the Finish message wait 2 seconds before clicking the confirmation button. This should allow the final files enough time to be copied across to your system correctly.
Q38. Does CM4 work on this new beta version of windows "Windows Longhorn" or Windows 2003 Server?
A38. CM4 is untested and unsupported on anything but Windows 98se, NT4 Service Pack 6a, WinMe, 2000 and XP. It may or may not work on these new versions of Windows, but its not tested or supported on them.
Q39. My game wont install and/or crashes and/or is not working as it should and I want/need help immediately!
A39. Contact Eidos technical support as described at the back your manual if you want help immediately!
Q40. My mouse pointer is not clicking at the point of the finger on the mouse pointer?
A40. This has been fixed, get the latest CM4 Enhancement pack. This was very rare and only seems to happen on Windows 98.
Q41. I’m being asked for the version number of the driver for my NVIDIA graphics card - How do I find it?
A41. It’s a little bit complicated, Right click anywhere on desktop > click properties > click settings > click Advanced...
In the top right of that new window it will tell you your card name "geforce 2 mx" (or whatever type of card it is). Click that name to go into the cards information tab..
At the bottom of this window you will see a driver and version; the version will be along the lines of 6.13.10.4109.
Q42. Im running WinXP SP-1 and I find programs running slower after I install Windows XP Service Pack 1?
A42. From Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=815411
SYMPTOMS After you install Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1), your programs may take as much as ten times as long to start.
CAUSE This problem may occur if the programs you run frequently allocate and deallocate large blocks of memory. Changes in Windows XP SP1 in the memory management system have caused this operation to take significantly longer than with pre-SP1 Windows XP.
RESOLUTION A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Windows XP service pack that contains this fix.
Q43. How do I start a network game?
A43. Start CM4, Click the Game Settings button (or Game Options on the left hand side, and then Game Settings). At the bottom of this screen you have "Server Settings". Click the "Run as Server" box, and give your server the name of your choice. It’s a good idea to change it from the default!
Now click confirm. Now you should start a new game, or load your game. People should now be able to see and join your game!
Please be aware that both you as the server, and people joining as clients need the following ports open on any routers or firewalls in your way, 9091 (udp) and 9092 (9092 (tcp).
Q44. How do I join a network game?
A44. Open Cm4, click on the "Join Network Game" button! In there the game name you want should be listed on the list of games, if it is not click "Join Other" on the top right of the screen, and a box comes up, put in the IP address of the game in there!
Please be aware that you will need the following ports open on any routers or firewalls in your way, 9091 (udp) and 9092 (9092 (tcp).
Q45. I dont understand Database Size and Full Detail? Can you explain?
A45. Database Size The games database is huge in comparison to CM01-02, CM4 has over 200,000 players in it - with the inclusion of staff etc. there are over 250,000 people in the game.
In comparison to this CM01-02 had around 120,000 people present in the game.
Because of this the size of database you select has a huge effect on game speed.
If you select maximum database size then this will retain the a lot of players when the game begins (exact amount varies dependant upon the leagues selected) and this will make the game much slower than on the lower database settings where fewer players will be retained.
If you have a machine which isn't 'top end' then I do NOT recommend using the maximum database setting.
Full Detail The full detail setting changes the simulation model used by the match engine slightly which speeds up the processing of matches in 'non-full detail' leagues considerably.
The only noticeable difference in such leagues is that you will not be able to watch 2D replays of the vast majority past games from such leagues.
PS. If your MAIN league (ie. the one you're managing in) is set to non-full detail then any competitions you are active within will remain as 'Full Detail' and only those you are not present in will be simulated using the lesser detail setting.
Using these options can speed the game up considerably, I recommend playing around with them if you are dissatisfied with the game speed.

Q 46. My game keeps crashing (and I have a speed touch adsl modem)
A 46. This is a known issue with the speed touch adsl modem drivers, you need to get the latest ones from www.speedtouch.com to resolve the issue.
Q47. Which is the Pre Game/Save-Game Editor to use for CM4?
A47. There are no official or unofficial game editors for CM4.
Q48. I keep getting beaten in CM4. Help me please!
A48. What you need is CM4 lead developer Marc Vaughan's Hints and Tips guide! Dont forget that after the tweaks in Enhancement pack 3 your "super tactics" may not be as effective anymore!
Q49. I’m running Windows XP and have a NVIDIA graphics card and I’m having problems with Windows changing the refresh rate?
A49. A11. Windows XP has issues with changing screen resolutions for games if you use an NVIDIA graphics board. It is a common problem with win9x games, and even games that officially support 2000/XP, that they display at a 60Hz refresh rate when in full-screen mode. This is caused by the way Windows XP interacts with software when the software asks Windows what screen resolutions and refresh rates it can use. In win9x, Windows uses your desktop refresh rate settings for each resolution. But in XP, Windows does not send those settings to software -- it expects software to choose an appropriate refresh rate on its own. Unfortunately, very few applications have their own refresh rate setting option, nor do they try to use the highest available; they just default to the first one Windows gives them, which is usually 60Hz. This problem is universal enough that I really think Windows XP should have a function to set the default refresh rates that it passes to software, but alas, it does not.
There are pieces of software that will get around this here – http://www.ntcompatible.com/faq332.shtml
On a side note, anybody not using latest NVIDIA graphics drivers should upgrade to the latest set from www.nvidia.com.
Q50. When I start CM4 my screen goes black and nothing happens?
A50. The first thing you should do is make sure your PC meets the minimum system requirements for the game. If you have a very old PC it may not be able to run the game, plain and simple.
You may also need to update the version of DirectX that you are using. DirectX can be downloaded from Microsoft's website http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.asp. You can also get it through Windows Update.
You will need to update the drivers for your video card and/or sound card in order to make them compatible with the latest version of DirectX. In order to do this you will need to download the latest drivers from your manufacturer's website.
Finally, you may need to change the resolution that your desktop is set to. CM4 is designed to run at 1024 by 768 and in 32 bit color. To change your desktop resolution, right click anywhere on your desktop and select Properties. Now click on the Settings tab and adjust the "Screen Area" slider bar to 1024 x 768. Click on apply, then confirm that you want to keep the new resolution. Now try to run the game again.
Q51. All this talk of Sound and Graphics and other drivers has me confused, what are drivers and how do I find out what drivers I have?
A51. Drivers is a term used to describe the software that makes the seperate parts of your PC work. The most common drivers you will hear spoken of around here are the ones that control your video card, your sound card, and your motherboard.
All modern games, CM4 included, requires that your drivers are compatible with the version of DirectX that the game uses. It is therefore necessary to update the drivers on your PC from time to time, in order to keep your PC upto date.
Updating drivers is a simple process, normally involving downloading the updates from your manufacturer's website.
Follow these instructions to find out what kind of video (Display) and sound (Audio) card you have. Your PC has a tool that will collect all the information you need and even store it in a simple file, this is dxdiag that you will hear spoken about in this document from time to time.
Click on the Windows START button, and click Run. Now type DXDIAG and press Enter. Click on the Display tab. This screen will contain your video card details. In the Device box on the left hand side, make a note of the Name and Manufacturer. You may also want to make a note of the Approx. Total Memory, and on the right hand side, the Version number in the Driver box. Now, click on the Sound tab. This screen will contain your sound card details. In the Device box on the left hand side, make a note of the Name. On the right hand side, make a note of the Version number in the Driver box.
You should now know what video card and sound card you have.
Q52. I want to play about with the background pictures, is there anything I should know?
A52. If you have installed unofficial add ons into the game such as background pictures and/or logo's please be careful as to where you locate them - if they are located in the wrong directory structure then the game may attempt to pre-load them which may cause several problems:
* Game stalls upon startup
If there are many pictures then your machine may run out of memory trying to pre-load them, this will simply mean the game never appears.
* Game is very slow
If you machine can handle pre-loading them this might take up an awful lot of memory and make the game run more slowly than otherwise.
If you believe this might be the case I recommend you uninstall and then reinstall the game to a different directory (important as it is likely the uninstaller will leave your customised pictures present in the old directory structure).
Q53. CM4 is slow on my PC, can you help me speed my PC up?
A53. All I can do is point you in the direction of websites that focus on helping people improve their PC's. My personal favourite is Tweak 3D.net. It has a great tweak section for every possible version of Windows that I have always found helpful!
Q54. I have a problem with another Championship Manager/Sports Interactive game. What can I do?
A54. 99% of the problems with previous Championship Manager game is answered in another FAQ (Written by Edl, with insparation by Kris!). So you should have a look at the Championship Manager 3 Series FAQ. It has every possible answer we can think of for all the CM3 generation of games!
