The following ratings indicate his playing ability and reputation and are based on a scale from 1 to 200, where 1 means the worst in a competitive league anywhere in the world ever, and 200 means the best in a competitive league anywhere in the world ever. There are also 2 special ratings which can be used for potential ability –1 and –2, where –1 indicates good potential and –2 indicates massive potential (these ratings would normally be given to young players). If you are unsure of a value please leave as 0 as the game will generate appropriate values.

The best players in the world should have about 180-195.

Potential Ability
How good he could become in the future or how good he was at his peak. This value must never be below his current ability.
Same scale as current ability, but you can use the following for younger players
-1 Potential will be between 120-200 ( quite rare )
-2 Potential will be between 160-200 ( very rare )
The advantage of using these is that they will be generated each time the game is played – just like when you leave them empty but this time within the above ranges. This adds more variation to the gameplay.
NB Please be sparing with these, as too many will ruin the gameplay & realism.

The following ratings indicate his preferred playing positions and are based on a scale from 1-20, where 1 means he is unhappy playing in that position, and 20 means he is happy playing in that position. If you are unsure of a value please leave as 0 as the game will generate appropriate values.
Please try not to give players too many 20’s here because in reality, versatile players are quite rare. If someone has a secondary position, it is probably best to set it to around 15 rather than 20.
